I have finally gotten a chance to post the project that I finished the other day. Work ( and a little bit of play ) has gotten in the way.......Last Sunday I had a chance to drive down to Oxford to the University of Mississippi to see Blues Traveler at the Grove. They were really good. It's not the kind of music that I normally listen to, but I enjoy any kind of live music. The vocals and harmonics were awesome.

This is a photo of the opening band, The Dirt Brothers. I do not listen to Country at all, and they were a Country band. I enjoyed them also--- they were very entertaining and had some catchy tunes.

Now, my finished piece....... I love the way this turned out.
I can't ever seem to get enough of skies and butterflies!
Instead of using the wire mesh and covering up my pretty sky paper, I decided on a piece of metal sheeting placed underneath. You can still the see the outline it , but I love the effect...... kind of surrealistic/modern painting-ish. The white butterfly is mounted on a magnet so I can move it around the board. It was a fun, quick project for my desktop.

Rainy Day Goings-on

Its a rainy day around here, so there is not much going on. I recently bought one of those magnetic word kits and it's an artist's one filled with random words like "canvas", "scream", and "miasma". I wanted to find a way to have a canvas with a magnetic sheet to display various words and poems . It would sit on my desk on a stand and would give me hours of inspiration. :) So, on this rainy day, that's what I'm working on. I've decided on a thick piece of cardboard (the canvas would be covered up anyway) and a nice BasicGrey paper -Mellow"-- the one with the clouds on it. I found a piece of wire screen in the basement and decided that instead of a solid sheet on which to place the little magnet words, I thought the background showing through would be a nice touch. Right now I'm debating on whether it needs other embellishment or not. I love sky scenes and simple would be nice, for once--- I usually tend to like lots of doo-dads and thingys on my work. That's all for now-- I'll try to get this posted as soon as I'm finished with it. Have a good day, whether it's raining or not!!
